Holiday Goodie Advent Calendar of WONDERMENT!

In an effort to find something to fill my December long desire to bake and create I decided to concoct this Advent Calendar idea. Comparable to a 12 days of cookies… but not.

Here it is… 3 days into December in true “Jeff and I have too freaking much to do” fashion.

Holiday Goodie Advent Calendar o’ Wonder and Wonderment

Here are the basics:

NOTE: This calendar isNOT denominational in any way. I just happen to have a tree with lights on it. It is NOT a Christmas tree. It is a tree with lights. I like lights. And snow. And lights…

It is a DECEMBER long advent calendar so that we can encompass every holiday this month entails. Kwanzaa, Las Posadas, Christmas, Winter Solstice, New Years, Hanukkah, St. Nicholas Day and the like. If you celebrate it this Month – celebrate it with this calendar.

You can make / bake / whip up / create / design ANYTHING you like as long as it SCREAMS HOLIDAY. Whatever December holiday you pick. Cookies, cake, drinks, decorations, hand made gifts, etc… (as long as you “make” it). You can specify denominational holidays in your posts. Kwanzaa cake, Christmas Cookies, Solstice Candles, etc… I have no problens with that at all and want to include as much holiday as I can on this.

You can submit one time or every day this month!

For example: If you schedule your post to publish on Dec 3 that would be the day that your post would appear under the “Calendar window”. That being said if you have some wonderful posts from last year, you can also send those along. If it was good last year it works for me this year!

From you I would need:

  • date of calendar publishing
  • your post title
  • A very short description (about 160 characters)
  • a photo that compliments the post title sized to 2″ x 2″ (144 x 144)

In a perfect world I would like these all by 9 pm est time the day before the post. I know some of you do NOT post till that day (like I don’t know – maybe me…) so if you would desperately need to send them late go ahead and I will do my best to get it on the specific date. Just don’t make it a habit dammit… ;-)

Oh and if you chose to participate a little badge would need to go on your site. Here is the badge. (if you need a different size I can customize one for you.) I will email you the code:

Interested? Leave me a comment with your email and any ideas you might have to make this a Calendar of WONDERMENT that is FULL of AWESOME!

*Today is the third and if you have posts you have posted that are “holiday awesome” pleassssssse send them along and I will put them on the dates you specify.

OMG, I’m all over this like a fat kid on a Smartie. Great idea!
I’ve got a cranberry-and-brie appetizer recipe that’s a perfect fit. It’s non-specific as far as holiday, but very very seasonal… not to mention really handy for all the parties and potlucks and dinners at this time of year. Do let me know if you’d like to include it in the calendar.
